Can I Exercise My Right to Manage

There are various statutory criteria which need to be fulfilled in order to qualify to exercise your right to manage. These requirements relate to the nature of your block.

  1. Two thirds of the total number of flats must be owned by those with leases originally granted for at least 21 years
  2. No more than 25% of the internal floor space is used for commercial purposes
  3. No local authority is the intermediate landlord of a qualifying tenant
  4. The freeholder is not a resident landlord (Resident Landlord Exemption)
